Team of the Week, Ighalo and Ndidi leads

It was another weekend of football around the world with a host of
Nigerian players in action for their respective clubs.

On this piece, we look at the best Nigerian performers of the weekend for the Team of the Week.

Francis Uzoho (Elche)

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was impressive for Elche in their 2-0 win over Real Zaragoza in the Segunda Division.

Uzoho made some fantastic saves to keep a clean sheet for his side.

Ola Aina (Torino)

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina found himself on the score sheet in Torino’s 1-1 home draw against Fiorentina in the Serie A.

William Troost Ekong (Udinese)

Also in the Serie, William Troost-Ekong was fantastic in defence for Udinese although he could not stop the two goals they conceded in the 2-2 away draw at Genea.

Semi Ajayi (Rotherham)

Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi put up a solid performance in defence as Rotherham got a 1-1 draw away at Preston in the English Championships.

Brian Idowu (Lokomotiv Moscow)

Super Eagles fullback Idowu was electric in his 90-minute performance for Lokomotiv who got an impressive 3-0 away win over Yenisey.

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)

Midfielder Ndidi was impressive again for Leicester City as he scored to secure a 1-1 home draw against West Ham.

Ogenyi Onazi (Trabzonspor)

Super Eagles midfielder Onazi played the whole minute and put in a solid shift as Trabzonspor managed a 1-1 away to Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Samuel Adegbenro (Rosenborg)

Nigerian players Adegbenro was on the scoresheet in Rosenborg’s 2-1 away win over Brann in the Norwegian Eliteserien.

Isaac Success (Watford)

Super Eagles forward Isaac Success netted in the 80th minute to complete Watford’s 3-0 routing of Huddersfield.

Victor Osimhen ( Sporting Charleroi)

Osimhen continues with his hot streak as he scored for  Sporting Charleroi away at Gent. Unfortunately, his goal wasn’t enough to prevent a 1-2 loss for his side.

Odion Ighalo (Changchun Yatai)
There is no stopping Ighalo who scored his 21st Chinese Super League goal for Changchun Yatai in their 1-2 loss at home to Changqing.
